Salesforce Documents by Release

이 콘텐츠는 아직 번역되지 않았습니다.

Salesforce ships three releases a year, and its guides change with them. Limits are raised, caps come off, new features arrive, and the advice gets updated. That’s a good thing: it’s a growing platform. But it means a number in a course is only as good as the edition it came from. So in these courses, every platform fact carries the release it was read in and the date it was checked.

This page is the long view. It lists the Salesforce guides the courses lean on, from today back to Winter ‘16.

Salesforce ships three releases a year: Spring, Summer and Winter. Each one gets a release number and a new API version, and each one can bring a new edition of a guide. A Winter release arrives in the autumn of the year before its name: Winter ‘27 came out in September 2026, so its guide says “updated September 18, 2026.”

Three editions a year would bury the history in near-duplicates, so for release editions this page keeps one a year, the Winter release. That’s enough to see how a guideline has moved over a decade. The newest edition is always here too: when a Spring or Summer release comes out after the Winter one, it’s added at the top as Current, and it stays there until the next release replaces it.

Here’s every release since Winter ‘16, newest first, with the weekends it reached production orgs:

Production weekends as Salesforce’s Admins blog announced them in each release countdown; your org gets the release on one of them, depending on its instance. Not found: releases before Summer ’17, and Winter ’18, Spring ’18 and Spring ’19. API status from the End-of-Life policy. Checked 2026-11-01.

Every release brings a new API version, and integrations, packages and code are pinned to the version they were written against. Salesforce supports each API version “for a minimum of 3 years from the date of first release,” gives at least a year’s notice before support for a version ends, and in practice keeps versions far longer. Here’s where every version stands today:

API versionsReleasedStatus today
41.0 and laterWinter ’18 to nowSupported
31.0 to 40.0Summer ’14 to Summer ’17Supported; deprecated and unsupported from Summer ’27, retired from Summer ’28

7.0 to 20.0up to Winter ’11Retired as of Summer ’22

If you inherit an org, check which API versions its integrations call; a version on its way out is a project, not a surprise.

The documents are grouped by topic, one line each. Every line shows the document’s history at a glance: one small square a year, filled where there’s a copy. Open a line for what the document is for, the course pages that cite it, and every copy, newest first:

  • Current, in bold, is the one to use for anything you build or decide today.
  • Baseline is Winter ‘16, the edition the courses compare against.
  • PDF is Salesforce’s own copy of a release edition, at an address that includes the release number (it goes up by two every release), so the link always means the same edition.
  • Archive is a copy in the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine (opens in a new tab), in case Salesforce ever moves or removes the original.

There are two kinds of document. Release editions are guides Salesforce publishes as a PDF for every release. Living pages are pages with no versions, such as Help articles, Trailhead units and papers on the Salesforce Architects site, which change in place; for those, the history is one Wayback Machine copy a year, as far back as the Archive has one.

Open any two copies side by side and you’ll see how a guideline has moved. For an example, see The Platform Keeps Growing, where Winter ‘16 sits next to Winter ‘27.

The list grows as the courses grow: when a course starts citing a Salesforce guide or page with a fact that can change, it’s added here, and every release brings its next copy.

Checked 2026-10-31.

Each line opens. The squares are one per year, 2015 to 2026, left to right: ■ a release edition (Salesforce's release-numbered PDF), ■ an archived copy of a living page (a page with no versions), ■ current.

The current one, for anything you build or decide today: check the latest edition before you commit to a number. The older editions are there to explain the past. They tell you why an org you inherit was built the way it was, why older study material may quote different numbers, and how far the platform has come.

Salesforce’s support promise covers API versions (see API Versions above), not documents: there’s no matching promise for keeping old documents online. Salesforce has kept every edition on this page available so far, and the archived copies are the backup.

These are Salesforce’s documents. This page only links to them; it doesn’t copy them.
